Rice Cereal Will Make Them Sleep

Although there was some spitting, the cereal incident was unsuccessful.

Any Mom knows that if you want to get some sleep at night, you put a little rice cereal in your baby's bottle so he/she will sleep longer between feedings. I've been doing this recently with my son. It works pretty well. It buys me a few more precious hours of MUCH NEEDED SLEEP.

Baby's usually start eating rice cereal around 4 months. DJ is 3 1/2 months so I figured I'd try it out. Hey, he has it in his bottle, so why wouldn't he like it in a bowl? Duane set up the video camera and I got everything ready. I sat DJ down on my lap. Duane did little voice over intro for the camera, then, ACTION. I fed DJ a little bit of cereal. He ate a little then frowned up his face and spit it out. I made it a little thinner and the same thing happened. Darn! I was hoping to be able to feed him some cereal for dinner, then he wouldn't need a bottle during the night. Oh well, we'll try again in a few weeks. This time with some fruit!!!

I'll let you know how it goes...

I didn't start solids with Gisela until she was 6 months! (strictly breastfed up until then) And she has slept through the night (8 hours) since 8 weeks. (don't hate me!)

Just a FYI that solids don't matter. I was told (by a nurse) it was all about brain maturity and babies do it when they are ready.

Sucks, but he will be there soon! GOOD LUCK!
